SDG Cape Town (also known as Soli Deo Gloria) is a four-piece youth band made up of four young and talented gentlemen between the ages of 16 – 18. Growing up in a community riddled with gangsterism and drugs, the band chose to tread down a different path, and as such, were introduced to a variety of instruments and were mentored through music by a community-based organization called The Jazz Yard Academy (JYA). Once their band solidified, they shot to fame and started performing on their own at various venues in Cape Town, such as the Daily Music Show, Real Art Wednesdays as well as The Crypt Jazz Restaurant. Furthermore, the band represented the country at the 2019 World’s Children’s Prize (WCP) Awards, in Mariefred, Sweden, accompanied by 2017 Idols winner, Paxton .
